Job SummaryHighly experienced swim designer responsible for seasonal line creation and development from concept to production of major licensed swim brand. Collaborate with licensor design team and director of swim design to create commercially viable swim assortment that meets the elevated aesthetic of the global brand.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and present seasonal swim wear assortments based on sportswear rigs and licensor directionResearch and create shopping reports on current swim trends with focus on elevated aestheticResponsible for silhouette and design development for swim and cover upsCollaborate on color palette and printSource and develop fabrics and trims for swimwear and cover upsResearch and develop printsDevelop sketches and working line sheetsDesign boards for meetings-both virtual and physical formatResponsible for all YPLM design functionsCommunicate fit intent and relevant garment details to patternmakerWork with print department on color ways, repeats, and graphicsComment on lab dips and strike offs in collaboration with print team and design directorParticipate in fittings and contribute to final product approvalManage and deliver to seasonal calendarsCollaborative design approach-able to synthesize direction from both licensor and licensee to create on brand product that meets current business needs and opportunitiesQualifications/RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion DesignExperienceMin 3-5 years swim design experienceSkillsOutstanding sketching and presentation skills-fluent in Illustrator and Photoshop as well as YPLMSolid understanding of fabrics, finishes, details, trims, fit, and constructionWorking knowledge of Excel, InDesign, 3D DesignExcellent verbal and written communication skills-note taking in AdobeStrong time management and organizational skillsMust be team orientedTravel: N/AWorking Conditions : in office.
