Title: Technical Designer (Scenic/Set Construction)Location: East LondonType: Full TimeSalary: £40,000 - £50,000Job Ref: 40785A specialist creative construction company working across TV, film, and live events is looking for an experienced Technical Designer to join its growing team in East London.This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong designer with experience in set construction, scenic build, and event structures to work on innovative, high-profile projects within a collaborative and fast-paced creative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating creative concepts into practical construction plans, working closely with production, fabrication, and design teams.Working within a multidisciplinary design team, you will help convert client briefs and creative concepts into buildable solutions, ensuring designs are practical for CNC fabrication and workshop production.Your focus will be on technical detailing, structural practicality, and efficient problem-solving, helping deliver complex scenic builds and event installations.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate creative briefs into detailed technical construction drawingsProduce accurate CAD models and build documentationWork closely with fabrication, workshop, and production teamsEnsure designs are practical for CNC machining and fabricationSolve technical challenges relating to scenic construction and event buildsSupport design teams by promoting efficient, solution-focused workflowsPrepare technical documentation, reports, and presentationsContribute to the development of innovative construction solutionsTechnical Designer RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should have strong experience within scenic construction, event build, or TV/film set design environments.Essential Skills & ExperienceMinimum 4 years’ experience in Technical Design within TV, film, events, or scenic constructionStrong knowledge of construction techniques used in set builds and live eventsPro
