Surface Pattern Designer - General Merchandise (Warrington Based)

This role will be based in Warrington with the expectation of a minimum of 3 days in the office.As a Surface Pattern Designer within the GM team, will be required to create, develop, and apply artistic, often repeating, patterns to various products like textiles, Home Decor, Seasonal and Stationery products. This role allows a combination of creative flair with technical skill in software like Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop to create marketable designs, ensuring they are production-ready while following current trends and brand guidelines.You will work closely with the GM Buying team, wider design teams and also the merchandising team.Some of your responsibilities will include:Create impactful, on-trend surface pattern designs to increase sales and customer outreach of products Create marketable patterns to appeal to new customer bases and increase sales Develop original motifs, prints, and patterns using hand-drawing, painting, or digital tools. Create seamless, repeating patterns and prepare technical specifications (colorways, scale, layouts) for production. Ensure designs are suitable for specific surfaces, ranging from apparel and home goods to stationery and packaging. Analyze industry trends, color palettes, and competitor products to create commercially viable designs. Liaise with Buying teams to ensure that product launches are timed with seasonal and promotional events for optimum financial performance Ensure packaging is designed sustainably, to ensure we are following environmental guidelines in a cost-effective way About YouFor this role, we’re looking for someone who has:Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other design products Software Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop) and CAD tools.
