Men's Designer - Knits and Sweaters

Job DescriptionWe are searching for a Menswear Designer with experience in knits and sweaters for our client, an iconic menswear brand.ResponsibilitiesActively participates in the conceptual development of product lines (i.e., sells ideas/concepts and convinces others to adopt a course of action) for Men’s Cut & Sew Knitwear and Sweaters.Responsible for the entire product design process to include market research, inspiration boards, jacquard and print development, sketching in 2D and 3D, presentations, fittings, and tech pack hand offs.Ensures that the product is consistent with market trends, business strategy, whilst maintaining the brand’s DNA.Research competitors frequently through in-store visits, presents findings and analysis to teamsAbility to update best sellers and to invent next best seller productAbility to structure and design high perceived value products which meet price requirements and tells a compelling merchandising story.Attends design meetings, leads presentations, and works with cross functional partners.Responsible for communicating design details through accurate, detailed flat sketches.Creates fabric, pattern, and body CADs, updates and modifies throughout the season.Responsible for the design and development of new fabric innovation in both Cut & Sew Knits & Sweaters.Actively participates in all fittings, completing follow-up tasks like sketch updates, fabric layouts, and logo placements.Attends all WIP (work in progress) meetings to keep abreast of calendar milestones and actionable projects.Maintains complete tech packs in partnership with the Product Development team.Responsible for approving all lab-dips, knit-downs, strike offs for development, as well as pre-production approvals for bulk.Occasional travel will be required domestically and internationally.SkillsHigh level of creativity with a passion for designAdvanced working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.Ability to learn new computer technology including 3-D design an
