Ladies’ & Girls’ Outerwear Designer12-Month Maternity Cover

Location: London / Hybrid

Contract: 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position depending on business needs. Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and commercially minded Ladies’ & Girls’ Outerwear Designer to join our London design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching trends and developing commercial outerwear ranges for UK and international retail customers.

The role will involve working closely with customers, product development, technical and sourcing teams from initial concept through to sample development. Key Responsibilities

Research seasonal trends, colours, fabrics, trims and silhouettes. Design commercial ladies’ and girls’ outerwear ranges in line with customer briefs and target price points. Create CA Ds, design presentations, colourways and basic technical information.

Develop products including coats, jackets, puffers, parkas, trenches, shackets and lightweight outerwear. Prepare and present customer-specific design proposals. Work closely with the technical, sourcing and product development teams.

Review samples and provide clear design comments. Manage multiple projects and meet critical path deadlines. Conduct regular competitor, retail and online market research. Skills and Experience

Previous experience in ladies’ or girls’ outerwear design. Strong understanding of the UK fashion retail market. Good knowledge of outerwear fabrics, trims, construction and garment finishes. Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.

Commercial awareness and the ability to design to target price points. Good presentation, communication and organisational skills. Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories is preferred. This position is initially offered as a 12-month maternity cover contract.

There may be an opportunity for the role to be extended or become permanent, subject to business requirements and individual performance.
