Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as a Women's Fashion Designer in New York City! This is a 6 month W2 contract with benefits What You'll Be Doing
Create original apparel designs by interpreting fashion trends, color direction, fabric innovations, and seasonal concepts. Develop sketches, design concepts, and seasonal presentations for new collections. Research and analyze market and fashion trends to inspire innovative product designs.
Partner with sourcing and materials development teams to select fabrics, trims, and materials. Support the product development process by providing fit guidance, body block information, and participating in fit sessions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept through production. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience. Previous experience in apparel design, preferably within women's apparel.
Strong illustration, sketching, and conceptual design skills. Knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and materials. Ability to identify and interpret current and emerging fashion trends. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sourcing and product development.
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Sweater design experience is a plus for applicable roles. Show more Show less
