The Sweater Designer is responsible for the design and development of innovative knitwear collections for private label, licensed, and branded retail customers. This role partners closely with Sales, Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, and overseas manufacturing teams to create trend-driven, commercially successful sweater programs that meet customer expectations, cost targets, and production requirements.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of sweater construction, yarn development, stitch techniques, knit programming, and fashion trends, with the ability to translate creative concepts into production-ready garments.

Key Responsibilities

Design seasonal sweater collections across women's, men's, children's, and lifestyle categories, based on customer needs and market trends. Develop original sweater concepts, silhouettes, stitch patterns, textures, color stories, and yarn combinations.

Research fashion, color, knitwear, and consumer trends to create commercially relevant collections. Create customer presentations, trend boards, seasonal concepts, and line reviews. Prepare detailed technical packages, including flat sketches, stitch layouts, gauge specifications, construction details, measurements, trim specifications, and BO Ms.

Collaborate with Product Development and overseas factories to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. Select yarns, fibers, trims, and embellishments that align with design intent, customer requirements, and cost objectives.
