Associate Designer CAD

The Associate CAD Designer is responsible for the development of trend right product through the creation of innovative brand relevant prints and patterns for multiple classifications. Partners with the cross functional team (Design Directors, Production, Graphics, Colorist) to translate conceptual designs into technical formats for production purposes, and is responsible for the development of print that is relevant to seasonal themes and concepts.
Responsibilities Collaborating with Nautica CAD team to gather and create original print and pattern for seasonal color and concept that is both trend forward and brand appropriate. Research and assist in coordinating the print/pattern direction.
Translate inspirational sample prints and patterns into CAD format. Color and create pattern repeats throughout the development process and format in CAD for multiple classifications per concept, per season. Support the line development process by updating and refreshing CAD prints and patterns as designs evolve.
Understand the intricacies of the production process as it impacts print and pattern. Maintain organization and classification systems to ensure files are easily accessible by team members. Manage the transmission of files to the Design team.
Collaborate to trouble shoot issues. Creating production ready artwork to share with cross functional partners that is consistent with CAD center of excellence best practices. Communicate, organize, and share artwork using Miro to support efficient cross-functional collaboration.
Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Directors, Designers, Graphics, Colorist, and production teams) through communication and problem solving. Maintain awareness of corporate calendar and help team manage deadlines.
Qualifications 4 years’ experience in the textile/graphic design industry and a 4-year art degree or equivalent. Some knowledge of textile/graphic process (graphic, print and yarn-dye) and textile design softw
