Mode Search is supporting a women’s luxury fashion brand with the appointment of an Assistant Designer to join its growing design team. Defined by a clean, minimal and understated aesthetic, the brand is experiencing strong international momentum and increasing industry recognition, with ambitious plans for continued growth across Europe and the US.

Based from the brand’s Milan office, this is an on-site position supporting across a variety of Ready-to-Wear categories. The Assistant Designer will report directly to the Head of Design, while working closely with the wider creative leadership team.

The role

Support the design and development of collections across a variety of Ready-to-Wear categories, working closely with the Head of Design throughout the seasonal process. Assist with design research, concept development, mood boards, colour palettes, fabric direction and collection inspiration.

Support the preparation of sketches, design specifications and materials required throughout the design and development process. Collaborate with product development and production teams, supporting fittings and the progression of designs from initial concept through to final product.

Conduct ongoing market and competitor research while supporting the wider design team with seasonal deadlines and day-to-day creative requirements. Requirements

Previous experience within an Assistant Designer or similar Ready-to-Wear design position, ideally within the luxury or premium fashion market. Experience working across multiple Ready-to-Wear categories, with a strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit and product development.

Proficiency in relevant design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong sketching and presentation skills. A refined design sensibility with an appreciation for clean, minimal and understated luxury.

Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, growing
