An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and commercially minded Ladies’ Knitwear Designer to join an established fashion company based in Manchester, supplying trend-led product to the UK high street. Working with leading high street retailers, the business is passionate about delivering contemporary, commercial knitwear that responds to emerging trends while meeting customer demands.

We are looking for a talented mid-level Ladies’ Knitwear Designer with a strong eye for trend, colour and detail, and a genuine passion for knitwear. You will play an integral role in developing innovative, commercial collections for key UK high street customers, working closely with the wider design, merchandising, technical and sales teams from initial concept through to production.

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to develop their career within a dynamic, fast-moving supplier environment. Your New Role…You’ll research emerging trends, catwalks, street style, colour palettes and yarn developments to inform seasonal knitwear collections.

Design and develop commercial ladies’ knitwear ranges tailored to the needs of UK high street retailers. Create mood boards, colour palettes, design concepts, CA Ds and detailed technical specifications. Develop stitch ideas, textures, yarn combinations, trims and garment details.

Work closely with overseas factories and suppliers on yarn selection, sampling, garment development and fit. Attend customer meetings and present creative ideas, design concepts and product ranges. Manage the development process from initial design through to final sample approval, ensuring deadlines are met.

Work collaboratively with sales, merchandising and technical teams to deliver commercially successful collections. Keep up to date with competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements. About You…You’ll have previous experience in a Ladies’ Knitwear Design role, ideally within a brand, retailer or supplier to the UK high street.
