Senior Designer, Knits & Sweaters

Job Description

Location: New York, NY | Schedule: Onsite w/ flex remote days

We’re seeking an experienced menswear designer to shape knit and sweater collections from concept through development. This is a hands-on opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented professional who understands both the craft of knitwear and the demands of a fast-moving business.

What You’ll DoDevelop seasonal concepts and translate trends into commercially relevant menswear. Design fully fashioned sweaters and cut-and-sew knits, considering fit, construction, color, materials, and price. Source fabrics and yarns and develop stitches with an eye toward quality and brand direction.

Create sketches, CA Ds, presentation boards, technical packages, and bills of materials. Partner with design leadership, merchandising, product development, production, and technical design throughout the development process.

Lead fittings, present ideas to cross-functional partners, and help keep the team on schedule. Monitor the market and evolve both established and new product ideas. What You’ll BringA bachelor’s degree in fashion or textile design; a specialization in fully fashioned sweaters is preferred.

At least seven years of fully fashioned sweater and cut-and-sew design experience. Strong technical sketching and conceptual design skills, including advanced Illustrator proficiency. Knowledge of knitting techniques, yarn construction, machine gauges, and garment construction.

Experience with Photoshop, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PLM systems. Strong communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills. Additional Details
